Photos: Akatakyie pay royal courtesy visit to Bantamahene and Juabenhene

It was all joy when members of the Opoku Ware Old Boys Association (Akatakyie) paid royal courtesy visit to two senior Akatakyie; Nana Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI (Bantamahene) Hon. Nana Otuo Siriboe II (Juabenhene and Chairman of the Council of State) on Sunday, 30th July 2017 at their palaces.

Nana Baffour entered Opoku Ware School in 1970 with school number F106 and Hon. Nana Otuo entered in 1959 with school number E36.

The delegation, led by the National Executives Council (NEC) of Akatakyie, first visited the Bantamahene before a police escort to Juaben to celebrate the Akwasidae festival.

According to the national secretary of the association, Katakyie Rodney Nkrumah-Boateng, the visit was mainly to congratulate Nana Baffour for his enstoolment as the Bantamahene and Hon. Nana Otuo Siriboe II for his election as the Chairman of the Council of State.

Akatakyie presented various gifts to the two chiefs as custom demands.

The chiefs were elated to welcome and interact with their seniors, schools mates, and juniors. At both palaces, the delegation were showered with wisdom from the two senior Akatakyie as they learned culture, history, their school and after school life.

The Bantamahene was endorsed as a patron of the association during the visit and a royal buffet was held for Akatakyie at the Juabenhene’s palace before they joined him to celebrate the Akwasidae festival at the forecourt of the palace.
