Procrastination is a Thief of Time

Procrastination has been given many definitions by many people. But, I define it as a practice of doing less important things at the expense of more important things.

For instance, engaging in conversations with friends whiles assignments are left undone.

On the other hand, putting off an important task is not necessarily procrastination; it may just be good prioritization.

Procrastination, we say is a thief of time. Could sleeping also be procrastination? Many people may get baffled at this but let us do some analysis here. Each day offers us 24 hours. In this 24 hours we use 8 hours for working, relaxing and sleeping.

If one is lucky to live up to 75 years, this will mean that 25 years of that person’s life was spent sleeping, another 25years spent relaxing and only 25 years spent working. This is too bad. Yet, we expect to be great people.

Albert Einstein, a great scientist once said, “the reason why I succeed is that colleagues whiles asleep, I toil throughout the nights.” After all, there is more sleep after death.

Friends, let us say a big NO to procrastination and get moving to achieve our goals.
