The Smartest Way to Complete Your Medical Examination (KNUST Freshmen)

Almost every single year, many freshmen end up stranded during their medical exanimation procedure just because they didn’t know the best way to go through examination procedure.

Today, myJCR brings KNUST Freshmen the smartest way to complete the compulsory medical examination without troubles. Please note that the medical examination CAN BE DONE ON ANY WEEKDAY DURING SEMESTER 1 BY FOLLOWING MYJCR KNUST TEAM’S RECOMMENDATION BELOW.

–    Make sure you have paid your fees before initiating the process. You may be required to provide proof of payment at the KNUST Hospital.

DAY ONE

1.   Take a Chest X-Ray at the KNUST Hospital located at Tech Junction (very close to the traffic light) or at ANY hospital. Report to your preferred facility on a weekday before 12:00pm so you can obtain the results the same day if possible.

2.  Proceed to the KNUST Hospital (if you took the x-ray outside the KNUST Hospital) same day whether your x-ray is ready or not. YOUR X-RAY IS NOT REQUIRED ON DAY ONE.

o    Pick a Medical Examination Form at the Hospital’s Administration Office and Fill.
o    Proceed to the Nurses’ desk for your vital signs to be taken.
o    Send the filled form to the Hospital’s Laboratory and fill a small medical examination sheet. Blood sample will be taken for laboratory investigations. The filled forms will be collected at the Laboratory. (Make sure you get to the laboratory between 8:00am and 12:00pm).
o    Leave the hospital to your residence or to follow up on the x-ray (if needed).

DAY TWO
–    Go for your X-ray results if it wasn’t given to you on the day it was taken.
–    Send the X-ray to the HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATION between 12:00pm and 3:00pm.
–    Your laboratory results will be issued to you. Send the results together with the X-ray to a consulting room that will be assigned to you. The doctor will sign your Medical Certificate for you.

Send the signed Medical Certificate to your Head of Department on any day that you can do so.
